• Free Throw Council & District Competition

      1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29
      Holy Rosary Gym (Marian Center)

      Knights of Columbus Council 13470 and Council 6269 will join to host the KofC annual free throw championship.

      Competitions will be in three categories:
      • Ages 10-11 (boys and girls competition);
      • Ages 12, 13, 14 (girls competition)
      • Ages 12, 13, 14 (boys competition)

      Register in the gym before the competition begins at 1 p.m.

      Summer Coordinator & Teachers Needed
      for Religious Education Summer Intensive Program

      The Intensive Summer Elementary session is scheduled for July 9-20, 2012. It will be opened to grades 3-5 [for children who have already made their First Communion]. We will have two sections of grades 3, 4, 5. Please call the office to speak to Diana Campos if you are interested in being the Coordinator or teaching/helping.

      For children celebrating First Communion in the spring, the next Sacrament Preparation Session will be Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012. Remember, English-speaking parents meet in the Church this week. See complete schedule here.

      Become a part of the St. Joseph Respect Life Team.
      Meetings are at 7 p.m. on the third Monday of every month in Room 3 of the Church.

      Adult and 9–12 grader volunteers are needed for this ministry. Please prayerfully consider helping our children understand the Liturgy. Come and see what Children’s Liturgy of the Word is about. If you need more information contact Beth Norton, Sr. Gabriela Martinez, or Patricia Glasgow. We have Children’s Liturgy at ALL masses and we need LOTS of help. All volunteers need to have Keeping Children Safe class.

      The parish has updated the music hymnals and you still have a chance to support this project. Parishioners have the option of dedicating a new hymnal: in loving memory of someone who is deceased or you may have donated by your family.       The St. Joe Youth is participating in the Souper Bowl of Caring project this year. Bring non-perishable food and/or monetary donations to church this weekend. (Make checks payable to St. Joseph Catholic Church.)
